  • Guests pay with the phone already in their hand

Questions

Do guests need to download an app?

No. The QR code opens a normal web page in their phone's browser. Apple Pay and Google Pay work right there.

Do guides need a bank account?

No. Tips are paid in kwacha to MTN, Airtel or Zamtel mobile money. You can spend it, send it or cash out at any agent.

How much does it cost?

Joining is free for guides, staff and businesses. A small service fee is shown clearly on every tip before the guest pays. We'll confirm the final rate before launch.

Does TapTip hold my money?

No. TapTip is a technology service. Guest payments are processed by licensed payment partners, and tips go straight to the guide's mobile money. Card details never touch our servers.

Why isn't the money instant?

Tips arrive the same day. A short safety check between payment and payout protects guides and lodges from card fraud.

When is TapTip launching?

We're getting ready to launch in Zambia. Waitlist members hear from us first, with dates for their area.
